Panel backs nominee for Milwaukee's chief lobbyist

State health official Audra Brennan is on track to become Milwaukee's chief city lobbyist.On Monday, the Common Council's Judiciary & Legislation Committee recommended confirmation of Mayor Tom Barrett's nomination of Brennan as city director of intergovernmental relations. If the full council agrees March 3, she would replace Paul Vornhol, who stepped down to become policy chief for Barrett's gubernatorial campaign.Brennan is on loan from the state Department of Health Services to be project manager for the Milwaukee Public Schools Innovation and Improvement Advisory Council, a body that is studying ways to overhaul MPS. She previously worked on Milwaukee-area BadgerCare issues and served as executive assistant to then-state Revenue Secretary Michael Morgan, Revenue Department research chief and a lobbyist for the city and for MPS.
