Waukesha schedules open house on Lake Michigan water plan

Waukesha - Information on the city's search for a radium-free water supply and a draft application for Lake Michigan water will be displayed at a public open house scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 201 Delafield St.Citizens can comment on the pending application beginning at 7 p.m.The city has proposed buying up to 18.5 million gallons a day of lake water to meet maximum demand when the city is fully developed in several decades. Average daily demand after 2035 is estimated at 10.9 million gallons a day.
