Girls BB plays for cancer awareness

Tonight, South and West girls' basketball teams will play each other at South in a game that will be a fund-raiser for breast cancer awareness.Kids carnivalCarroll University's student chapter of Habitat for Humanity will host an enchanted kids carnival on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in Ganfield Gymnasium, 221 N. Barstow St.The event will have carnival games and prizes for all participants. This event is free. Donations will be accepted to raise money to sponsor a future Habitat home in the Waukesha area.Grand openingThe grand opening of Jess Fleur Fun flower studio, 320 South St., will be Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mayor Larry Nelson will cut the welcome ribbon at 11 a.m.Skating record setSpeed skater Mitch Whitmore of Waukesha, who trains at the Pettit National Ice Center, set national records of 35.50 seconds in the junior 500 meters and 1:09.73 in the junior 1,000 meters.
