Shorewood, Whitefish Bay to start prescription drug disposals

The Shorewood and Whitefish Bay police departments will begin accepting expired and unwanted prescription drugs starting Oct. 1.They join police departments in other communities, including Greendale, Oak Creek and Cudahy, that have begun accepting the drugs for disposal on an ongoing basis.Prescription drugs can be a hazard to water if disposed of improperly and can be abused by children or others if left unattended.
